The Terra Preta Farm is a traditional producer of award-winning quality coffees. Prioritising the quality of the coffee Terra Preta allies new agricultural technologies with respect and care for the environment, as well as offering better conditions for their employees. The farm went on to win the 2016 Cup of Excellence from the state of Sao Paulo and the 16th best in Brazil.
On our recent trip to Brazil, we were completely blown away by the cup quality of Fillipe’s coffee. Fillipe operates with a small team of 5 permanent staff, which allows him to oversee the quality of each individual batch selected for processing. Once picked, the coffee initially dries on patio’s and then gets transferred to large jute bags for a 70 hour fermentation, in a cool environment. Slowing down the drying process produces a cup of significant high complexity with notes of toasted almond & blackberry.
