Its proximity to the US and Europe makes it a staple for specialty roasters looking for balanced, reliable quality.

Regional Characteristics

  • Chiapas: Bordering Guatemala, this region produces coffee with a heavy body and rich notes of chocolate and toasted nuts.
  • Oaxaca: Known for high-altitude mountainous areas yielding dense beans with crisp apple acidity and delicate floral undertones.
  • Veracruz: Situated on the Gulf side, Veracruz coffees are often characterized by a refined sweetness and a smooth finish.
