Farmer: Coopetarrazú R.L

Founded in 1960 by 228 smallholder farmers, Coopetarrazú R.L. was born from a desire to create better opportunities for coffee producers in the San Marcos de Tarrazú region. Today, the cooperative represents over 4,500 members and processes an incredible 300,000 quintals of coffee each year — all while staying true to its roots of community, sustainability, and quality.

Grown between 1,200 and 1,800 metres above sea level, Tarrazú coffees are world-renowned for their bright acidity, honeyed sweetness, and clean cup profile. Each harvest (December to March), farmers carefully handpick ripe cherries before they’re milled at the cooperative’s eco-friendly facility — where liquid and solid waste treatment systems ensure minimal environmental impact.

The result is a cup that perfectly captures the essence of Costa Rica’s most celebrated growing region: vibrant, balanced, and beautifully sweet.

To ensure peak flavour and aroma, we roast in small batches multiple times per week at our local roastery. Every bag is shipped shortly after roasting, ensuring you receive it at the optimal point for degassing and brewing. We recommend resting your coffee for 5–7 days from the roast date to allow the flavours to fully develop before brewing.

Keep your coffee in its original valved bag, stored in a cool, dark, and dry place. Avoid the fridge or freezer, as moisture can damage the delicate oils and flavor profiles of the beans.
