Brew Guides: Aeropress

A favourite for travellers and home baristas alike, the Aeropress is a versatile, near-indestructible brewer that uses air pressure to create a clean yet full-bodied cup. It is remarkably forgiving, making it the perfect tool for exploring the complex acidity of Single Origin coffees or the reliable sweetness of our Signature Blends.

Recipe:

15g Coffee (Medium-fine grind) | 250g Water (92°C)

  1. Place a paper filter in the cap and rinse with hot water to remove any paper taste and warm your mug.
  2. Assemble the Aeropress in the standard position on your scale. Add 15g of freshly ground coffee.
  3. Start your timer and add all 250g of water. Give the grounds a gentle stir to ensure they are fully submerged.
  4. Insert the plunger slightly to create a vacuum seal (this stops the coffee from dripping through prematurely) and wait until the timer hits 1:30 minutes.
  5. Press down on the plunger with steady, consistent pressure until you hear a "hiss" sound. Avoid using too much pressure, as this can add bitter notes to your coffee.
  6. Enjoy as is, or add milk if you prefer.
