Brew Guides: V60

The V60 is the gold standard for pour-over brewing, celebrated by baristas for its ability to produce a clean, tea-like body that highlights a coffee's complex acidity and floral aromatics. Its 60-degree angle and large exit hole allow for total control over flow rate and extraction.

Recipe:

15g Coffee (Medium-fine grind) | 250g Water (94°C)

  1. Place the V60 filter in the dripper and rinse with hot water to remove any paper taste and pre-heat your carafe.
  2. Add 15g of freshly ground coffee, create a small well in the center, and tare your scale.
  3. The Bloom: Pour 40g of water, ensuring all grounds are saturated. Wait 30 seconds to allow the coffee to degas.
  4. The Main Pour: Gently pour in circular motions until you reach 150g. Wait 15 seconds.
  5. Final Pour: Continue pouring steadily until you reach 250g. Give the dripper a gentle swirl to ensure a flat bed of grounds.
  6. The total brew time should be between 2:30 and 3:00 minutes. Enjoy the clarity.
