This coffee is produced by Tgsit Boru, a woman farmer from Beloya, a kebele (village) in the Kochere district of the Gedio Zone, southern Ethiopia. A mother of six, Tgsit farms 2.8 hectares of land at an elevation of 1,705 metres above sea level, where coffee is grown alongside food crops using traditional, shade-grown methods.

Her coffee is cultivated under native trees including Cordia Africana, Acacia, Ensete, and Ventricosum, creating a biodiverse environment that supports slow cherry development and expressive flavour. Tgsit grows local Ethiopian varieties known as Kumie, Dega, and Wilsho, all well suited to the region’s altitude and climate.

The coffee is fully washed, undergoing a 36-hour fermentation before being sun-dried on raised African beds. This careful processing results in a cup that’s clean, elegant, and beautifully structured.

In the cup, expect a delicate green tea character, layered with juicy blackberry sweetness and a refined floral finish — a classic expression of washed Kochere coffee, shaped by meticulous farming and thoughtful processing.

A standout Ethiopian lot and a coffee we’re proud to share, celebrating both exceptional flavour and the work of a female producer at origin.

To ensure peak flavour and aroma, we roast in small batches multiple times per week at our local roastery. Every bag is shipped shortly after roasting, ensuring you receive it at the optimal point for degassing and brewing. We recommend resting your coffee for 5–7 days from the roast date to allow the flavours to fully develop before brewing.

Keep your coffee in its original valved bag, stored in a cool, dark, and dry place. Avoid the fridge or freezer, as moisture can damage the delicate oils and flavor profiles of the beans.
